The counter
Point of Sale
The question is not what a till does on a good day. It is what happens at half past six on a Saturday when the line is out the door and the connection drops. This one keeps selling.
Built for the counter, not for the demo
Everything here is on the terminal. The cloud is where the day goes afterwards, not something the sell screen waits for.
It keeps selling with the internet down
A terminal that has been set up holds the whole catalogue, taxes, service charges, coupon codes, staff, permissions and the full customer book in its own database. Recording an order, a payment or a cash movement needs no call to our servers at all — it is written to the terminal first and sent up afterwards.
Nothing gets sent twice
Every record waiting to go up carries its own identifier and the server matches on it, so a retry can never duplicate an order or double-post a payment. A record the server rejects is kept and retried rather than discarded, and one that has run out of retries is held on the device instead of being thrown away.
Staff sign in on the terminal itself
A six-digit PIN, checked on the device against a PBKDF2-SHA256 hash at 200,000 iterations — no round trip, so it works at the same speed whether the connection is up or not. Selling is one level of access and opening, closing and refunding the day is another; someone with neither gets the time clock and nothing else.
Several counters, one trading day
Register the terminals once, and from then on they find each other over your own network rather than through us. Open orders and the trading day are shared, so an order started at one counter is settled at another. Each terminal still counts and reconciles its own drawer, because cash belongs to the person holding it.
One counter going down does not stop the shop
The terminals elect a coordinator between themselves and re-elect automatically if it disappears. Every counter carries its own copy of the open orders and the day, so a failure is a counter that stops rather than a shop that does. If two counters manage to take the same payment, that is recorded and raised on screen for a person to settle — the software will not quietly reverse money on its own.
The day closes on counted cash
The drawer opens with the float carried over from its last close, plus anything you add. Cash goes in and out during the day against a reason, and at close you count the drawer against the expected figure with the variance shown as you type. A day with orders still open does not close — it goes into a draining state until they are settled, or a manager forces it closed. The last drawer to close closes the branch.
Discounts and voids need a manager
Order discounts, price overrides, voids and refunds sit behind a manager PIN once the business turns it on, and a void or a refund always requires a reason to be given. A refund writes a real reversing entry against the order rather than editing the original.
Payments, recorded the way they were taken
Cash, and card or wallet payments taken on your own terminal, each recorded against the order as its own line — so an order can carry a deposit at booking and the balance at the counter, and the till reads paid from what has actually been collected. The till records how the customer paid; it does not process cards itself. A tip left on the customer display goes onto the order and into that day's figures. Where online payment is switched on for your business, a booking paid through IMBeautyGlow arrives on the till already marked paid.
Scan with any keyboard-style scanner
Standard USB and Bluetooth barcode scanners type what they read, and the order screen listens for that while you are adding items. Plug one in and scan — no driver, no pairing screen, no permission prompt. An unrecognised code is refused rather than turned into a mystery line on the bill.
A second screen the customer actually uses
On a Windows counter the same install drives the second monitor; elsewhere a tablet pairs over your network. The customer watches the order build, then chooses their own tip — which goes onto the order and into that day's figures — and leaves a star rating for the salon and for each person who served them, kept against the visit rather than in a survey nobody reads.
The receipt does not depend on a printer
Every receipt can be shown on screen and reopened from the order list afterwards, so a counter with no printer is still a working counter.
Each counter can report on its own day
Takings, outstanding balances, payment mix, top items, sales by category and by staff, and an hourly chart — all built from what is on the device, so they work with the connection down. The cloud stays the source of truth for the business as a whole.
Questions people actually ask.
The answers a decision-maker needs before booking a demo.
Does the IMFlow360 POS work without internet?
Yes. Once a till is set up, IMFlow360 keeps selling without internet: your services, prices, staff and customer list are stored on the till, and every sale and payment is saved there first. You only need internet to set up a new till, or to sign in again after someone fully signs out.
What happens to sales made while the till was offline?
They're kept on the till and sent to your IMFlow360 dashboard automatically when the internet comes back — the till tries again about once a minute. Each sale is sent only once, so you won't get duplicate orders or payments. Anything that can't be sent stays on the till rather than being deleted, and important items show a warning.
Can I use more than one till in the same shop?
Yes. IMFlow360 tills in the same branch link up over your shop's own network, share open orders, and carry on if one of them goes down. Each till keeps its own cash drawer. If two tills ever take the same payment, it's flagged on screen for someone to sort out; money is never reversed automatically.
What devices does the IMFlow360 POS run on?
IMFlow360's till runs on tablets — it's designed for 11-inch screens, upright or sideways — and on Windows computers, where a second monitor can be the customer display. Tell us what hardware you already have and we'll confirm whether it's suitable.
Does the IMFlow360 POS print receipts?
Yes. The IMFlow360 till prints receipts, and every receipt can be viewed and reprinted at any time.
Can IMFlow360 take card payments at the till?
Not directly. The IMFlow360 till doesn't connect to a card machine, but you can take the payment on your bank's card reader and record it in IMFlow360 as a card payment. Every invoice then shows how it was paid, so your daily totals match.
Does stock go down automatically when I sell on the till?
Yes, for products you track stock on. The count drops once the sale reaches your IMFlow360 dashboard — straight away when you're online, or when the till reconnects. A refund doesn't put the item back, so returned stock is added back with an adjustment in the dashboard.
How long does a walk-in sale take on the IMFlow360 till?
A little longer than a supermarket till. Every sale goes through the same short booking screens: the customer's name and mobile number, an allergy choice ("None" is fine), the staff member serving them, and a seat if the room has seats. That suits salons well; if most of your sales are quick anonymous retail, ask us to show you on a demo first.
Can I use a barcode scanner with IMFlow360?
Yes. Any USB or Bluetooth barcode scanner that works like a keyboard can add products to a sale — plug it in, with nothing to install. Codes the system doesn't recognise are refused rather than added as an unnamed item. Scanning with the tablet's camera isn't available yet.
Does IMFlow360 have a customer display screen?
Yes. A second screen can face the customer — a second monitor on a Windows counter, or a tablet connected over your shop's network. Customers see their order as it's added, can add a tip, and can rate the salon and each staff member who served them. Payment still happens at the counter.
Does IMFlow360 support kitchen tickets for restaurants?
Yes, on the IMFlow360 POS for restaurants. Orders are sent to the kitchen as kitchen tickets, which can be printed, and the kitchen can follow them on a ticket board that updates every 10 seconds, from In Kitchen to Food Ready to Served.
Can I manage restaurant tables and dining areas in IMFlow360?
Yes. In your IMFlow360 dashboard you add dining areas and tables with seat counts, see each area's tables as free, occupied or reserved, and seat an order at a table from the web POS. Orders can move to another table.
Does IMFlow360 support gift cards or store credit?
Not yet. IMFlow360 doesn't offer gift cards, store credit or lay-by today. Service businesses can sell prepaid packages of sessions instead.
